On the floor Make up and Style

I want this in my MP3 player! Another make up and styling inspiration---from JLO of course. Call me too common---but how many stylists and photographers do you know, who will do you a make up and styling like this---for YOU???
Yes---there's a few of me unless you wanna pay JLO's makeup artist and stylist. O-huh?!?

The Cowl and the Halter

Oppss! I just realized I did not take a photo of the halter. The simple conservative cowl. Did a quick photoshoot for Edteresa. We're shooting the beginning part of her portfolio this spring break at Highline Park! Can't tell you how excited I am for that.
Us, working.
Vege bibimbop for me this Lenten Season.

Thank you readers.

My heart grows bigger each time you visit. Thanks to my frequent readers from Maryland, Cebu City, Dubai and other states here in the U.S. like California, Connecticut and Michigan. Maryland----you're one of the highest pointer lately! =) Gotcha!

Bimbimbop

Why, in the whole world would a Bimbimbop be part of a fashion and photography blog?
I am NOT shooting it artistically---it's just my lunch food.
Oh well.
BBMBOP is my therapy food today from fashion school stress.
I did fine with catching up on how to make the sleeve sloper or with the idea of draping our own design, what made me mentally stressed is the deadline---which is on Wednesday!
Not again!!!
Just when I thought I am catching up, I feel like unravelling and falling behind again for the nth time!
I have not slept 8 hours straight in any of the days these past weeks.
I need sleep........and a lot of time to do my projects.
This BBMBOP took my worries away at least for 45minutes of eating it.
Yes, will love to eat there again and again!
(32nd Street, between 5th and 6th Avenue, Manhattan)
You see my L ruler and hip curve sticking out?
The designer-cum-photographer with the triathlete. =) And photographer son, hehehe.
(Shhh...he's taking the pic.)
Daddy Coach...we're ready for our swimming lessons!
P.S. I have this nagging feeling that this post should have been in OliveGoGreen. But too late. I'm sleepy now. =)

Actual Draping in Class

Worked on this since Saturday morning!
In the making of a regular shirt collar.
Tadaaah! Finished the Mandarin collar on time!
How our draping class looks like on Wednesday night.
Window checking 37th Street.
Ahhhh...who can not fall in love with all these trimmings??? Thinking of doing my DIY project soon.
I love Hai's Trimmings at 37th Street in Fashion District.

After class on Wednesday. School is right next to H&M...

...which is infront of Forever 21 and again, next to Victoria Secret.
This is so inspiring. Yes, I will do this kind of photoshoot!

Draping Class 1

Today is the day I felt successful in class with Professor Pizzi! After weeks of flustered effort on sewing a skirt, I finally got the beat and was able to catch up with all the instructions. Left my draped blouse and skirt on the lady form so I can pick up work by Wednesday from where I left off. Will work on my design ASAP.

Sewing Class

Been working on this simple skirt for 8 hours straight and more that I don't seem to finish.
I missed a requested photoshoot for OliveFotografix, my son's tap and swimming class coz I was stuck on that chair the whole day learning clean stitch, french seams, putting on the zipper etc. etc.
Taking a break... Asking for help from the Professor. (He's Italian so imagine how he wants our work to be.)
All day work.
"Where's my scissors? My chalk? My pins? My etc etc." That's what you hear from time to time in our sewing class apart from the occassional sigh and the humming of the machine.
Zi---she's very confident with her work and very helpful too.
Ahhh...one great relief after all the pressure from class---all the big shops outside our window.
There' s all that you can think of outside. I probably spent a hundred each of the past 5 weeks. Is that good or bad?

Flats Drawing Project

The work with the Light Box, pen, ruler and french curve.

The Suit
Turtle Neck Blouse/Shirt with Shorts
Nightgown

The Party Gown

Blouse and Skirt

These may look so simple, but this is the first daunting class project I have in Fashion School.

Well, equally daunting as sewing a skirt now for our Sewing Class!

For this project, I had to buy and artist's Light Box, so I could see through the paper and trace with a .5mm felt pen the figures that I made using the tracing paper. Without the light box, I had no idea how to start tracing my own drawing into the Bienfang paper from the tracing paper. Confused?

Here's my own version (written while I'm sleepy) of the How to do Fashion Flats:

Flats Drawing is a multi-step task.

First, one has to have the body figure format that will be used for the the flats drawing.

Second, one needs lots of tracing paper, a well sharpened pencil and dirt free eraser.

When all things are ready, the third thing to do is fold the tracing paper using only one side of the paper to do the piece of clothing on top of the half side of the body figure. Then draw one piece of clothing (eg. shorts, shirt) for 30-minutes or an hour.

When done doing the half, the paper is turned over to the blank half (the other half of the fold) and tracing of the finished half begins as part of the fifth step. Continue tracing for the next 15 minutes or so.

Last but not the least, the tracing paper is laid flat to show one whole piece of clothing with both sides identical. The artist then now adds details like blind stitch hems, buttons, appliques, prints, etc.

Want to try Flats Drawing?!? I hope my tips can help you. Goodluck!
